January Inspirations

Since I’m traveling right now, my inspirations for January are more travel based, but this time of year still makes me miss having a cozy fireplace and a apartment to decorate with winter decor. Last year when I was putting together my February Inspirations , I was feeling so inspired by spring time and bright blooms. Fast forward to this year, I’m in a country that is bright and cheery with flowers everywhere. They say manifesting eventually pays off!

Here’s what is inspiring me this month, travel, self-care, improvement, lifestyle, the works:

Finding Hygge in Summer

I have to say that what I miss is the cozy lifestyle and the warmth that Hygge brings. I’m reading up a lot more on channeling that while traveling and during warmer months where the thought of climbing under a blanket gives me visions of heat stroke. A lot of the ways you can channel Hygge involve having a home base, or at least be in countries that have the opportunity to cuddle up with a blanket or comfortable sweater. I obviously have none of the above, so I’ll try and find ways to be Hygge while traveling this month.

Skincare Routines

The changes from dry to humid to more humid have been terrible on my skin and I’ve been trying to find a sustainable skin care routine that doesn’t have me breaking out constantly so I’m on the hunt for humid/travel skin care routines that are easy to keep up in a hostel. There’s nothing worse than a 15 step skin care routine while you’re traveling, not to mention having to carry it all and try and keep it all to 100ml or less. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! I’m at a bit of a loss honestly, nothing seems to be helping. The worst part is when i’m out riding in traffic and I can feel the layers of petrol on my skin. I’m inspired by the beautiful clear skin that most people seem to have while traveling. How do you do it! Tell me!

Staying Grounded

Yoga and meditation is definitely on my mind this year, I’m always looking for ways to ground myself in something familiar and yoga seems to do that quite well for me. I try and find yoga wherever I go, and I’ve been pretty lucky to have found great studios including my favourite in the world , The Yoga Barn in Ubud.

Photobooks

I’ve discovered that Shutterfly will give you a free photobook each month and all you have to do is pay shipping! I love being able to capture all my shots in one place, and I create one for my Vietnam trip already, I can’t wait to keep putting them together throughout my trips. I’m going to do one per country I think and then have a 5-6 books by the end of the trip. Or I might just choose to make one per month no matter which country I go to. I have a feeling I’ll be jumping around a lot over the next few months.

This doesn’t need much of an explanation. My hair is constantly crazy, kinky and messy in humid climates. I’m all about learning new ways to do my hair so I look less disheveled.

Bali Home Decor

Here are a few more images and articles that are inspiring me this month, no matter the fact I don’t have a place to do much of this in! Bali has been beautiful the past couple weeks and all the natural wood and white has me dreaming of my future house and where I’m wanting to live.
